Joseph P. Benanti
Joseph P. Benanti has extensive experience in commercial financing and leasing transactions, restructurings/workouts, creditors' rights litigation and bankruptcy, and has been practicing in these areas for approximately twenty-eight years. His representation of clients involves complex litigation matters, as well as equipment financing and leasing transactions (covering various collateral types, including aircraft) ranging in size from $50,000 to $50,000,000 throughout the United States as well as internationally. Mr. Benanti also has notable experience practicing before the State of Connecticut Appellate Court and various federal district and bankruptcy courts. |
Prior to his tenure with Benanti & Associates, Mr. Benanti served as a Region Attorney with General Electric Capital Corporation ("GE Capital") where he was responsible for representing GE Capital in various equipment financing and leasing transactions (including aircraft loan, lease and sale transactions), and in general commercial matters and loan and lease restructurings. At GE Capital, Mr. Benanti developed a proficiency in preparing and negotiating loan, lease and other commercial documentation; analyzing bankruptcy, fraudulent conveyance, lender liability, structuring and related legal risks; collateral repossessions; and complex bankruptcy and litigation matters. Mr. Benanti was also previously affiliated with Hebb & Gitlin (now merged with Bingham McCutchen), of Hartford, Connecticut.
